LABELED: Avocados by Allison Rand
Although I'm currently dating a great guy, I've had my ups and downs in the dating game before we were together. The most memorable was with a guy I met at the airport. We were both flying home for Thanksgiving, and after a good old flirt and chat, we realized that we both went to the same college. He added me on Facebook and we talked every now and then. Eventually, he asked me out for coffee. I'm an extremely punctual person, and was horrified to arrive 10 minutes late. However, when I got there, he hadn't arrived. I bought myself a cappuccino, and sat down to wait. And wait. And wait. That's when I should have left. He rushed in 30 minutes later, and had apparently "been waiting outside for me the entire time." Clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed. He got a coffee and we sat down. As soon as we started talking, we realized that we had absolutely nothing in common. But he was determined to make the date last, so we gave it the old college try. And we talked about avocados. For an hour.
There is only so much you can say about avocados. For an hour.
The date ended with an awkward hug and an invite to a party at his apartment. I haven't spoken to him since.
