NYFW: A/W2015 Nicholas K
The first time you step into the Lincoln Center every season is pure magic and we only hope the shows live up to that feeling. Bright and early, we sat front row at Nicholas K, eagerly awaiting their F/W 2015 collection dubbed as "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". The 1920's film noir is a silent movie which inspired their soft music to set the tone of the show. Sitting just to the right of us was a plethora of blondes; Shaun Ross, Kristen Taekman, the newly blonde Pete Wentz, and our dear friend, celebrity-photographer, Andrew Werner.
The earth toned Aviation theme made us want to be Amelia Earhart and conquer the world in a fashion-forward plane. The furs let off heat from the runway and had us snatching at them to warm our bitter souls this freezing Fashion Week. From afar, their amazing prints had a solid appearance but upon closer look we were able to see the intricate details. Oversized capes, leather and flowing lines, the edgy and dark nature of the collection was draped and cinched to perfection. We couldn't help but leave with our jaws on the ground, knowing that it might have been the peak of all the shows and wondering what better could follow.
