SOCIAL: Gala for Good
On Monday April 27th, "Goods for Good", a nonprofit that uses microenterprise to transform orphan care in Southern Africa, brought together over 500 attendees at the 6th annual Gala for Good. The event honored Neil Blumenthal, co-founder and co-CEO of Warby Parker, and Rachel Blumenthal, founder of Cricket’s Circle. The cocktail event raised an unprecedented $700,000 and was hosted at IAC HQ.
The evening started with champagne and an exclusive cooking demonstration by Daphne Oz, co-host of the Daytime Emmy Award winning show The Chew. For the main part of the night, we were moved into the main room and taste-tested a variety of different food stations. Our personal favorite stations were the Park Avenue Spring and Eataly, which serves up Manhattan's favorite Italian cuisine. We bumped arms with Andrew Zuckerman and basketball player Hasheem Thabeet.
At the end of the evening, we were treated to a musical performance by acclaimed musicians Chargaux. The violinists, who have been featured on Kendrick Lamar’s album, winded down the evening in a perfect manner. Goods for Good ended the night with their signature Vespa raffle...we only wish we won!
