IN CROWD: #Giltlife Pop-Up Launch Party
This week, website powerhouse Gilt hosted an exclusive VIP launch event for the kickoff of their fall lifestyle campaign #GiltLife. The luxury pop-up space- more like a townhouse- featured four floors of some of Gilt's favorite looks for the Fall spread around the house. The second floor in particular had a dream shoe closet every single New Yorker wishes was there's. Gilt tells us their second strongest business on their site is menswear and they did not leave the men out this time. A whole shoe closet section filled with high-end brands Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent, and Golden Goose sneakers. To the side of the shoe closet was another closet section filled with the coolest and smartest mens blazer collection. Classic neutral tailored blazers were mixed in with brown and orange plaid, a black and white print, and cashmere sweaters with Fall 2017 color staples Olive and Burgundy. Making our way up to the fourth floor, the bartenders were serving a variety of custom cocktails made from Bulldog Gin and a variety of wines from Prisoner. To our left was mens accessories from Ray-Ban, John Varvatos, Fieldscout, and Triwa that guests were gushing about- one even wanted to buy the contents right then and there! Later on, we were asked by the Gilt staff to kindly make our way back downstairs for an exclusive performance by Australian singer Betty Who . Singing a cover of 1990's hit "I Will Love You Always Forever", she had the audience captivated, standing on their feet, singing along to every word. Her 30 minute set was filled with vigor, energy, and an unusual treat these days- actually singing live. She finished the set with her hit and viral sensation "Somebody Loves You to thunderous applause.
